The much-awaited Bihar Museum will be inaugurated by CM Nitish Kumar on Friday evening. For now, however, only two galleries would be opened — children's gallery and orientation theatre.

Adults will have to pay Rs 50 while students and children will be charged Rs 25 each as the entry fee. It will remain open from 10.30am to 4.30pm every day, except Monday. The museum will have 25,000 artefacts on display in it. Three curators will be at work to look after the artefacts.

Principal Secretary (art, culture and youth) Vivek Kumar Singh told newspersons on Thursday audio-visual medium would be used to educate people about the rich heritage of Bihar. "Our aim is to inform people in a simplified way. Even kids and those who can't read and write should know about their history. Therefore, user-friendly methods will be adopted to showcase our rich cultural history."

In children's gallery, touch-screen and question-answer technique have been used to make the learning process easy and interesting.

Asked how long it will take to complete the entire project, Singh said it would take some time and that there is no end to improvement. "We can never claim to be perfect," he said. However, director (museums) J P N Singh said the project would be completed in six months.
