Java Talk: How We Treat Ourselves Kindly

It's Wednesday and I thought we'd have another Java Talk discussion. 

Today let's talk about how we take care of ourselves. I don't mean get a flu shot or things of that nature. 
I'm talking more about how we treat ourselves, emphasis on the "treat" as in small gifts we give ourselves. I often head over to McDonald's for a caramel iced coffee. It's cheap and I just love it. 
When I'm lacking in inspiration or just feeling a bit blah, I head to my favorite antique mall. Now that I think about it, I haven't been there since I found my red cupboard for the kitchen wall. I'm due a trip!
Sometimes I head over to Barnes & Noble and treat myself to a few clearance books. 
Some of you have asked why I don't utilize the library. 
Well, it's a "treat" myself kind of thing. When I was a child, I never owned a book, or recall being read to. 
So when I grew up, it became important to me to see books on my bookshelves.) A small extravagance. I could go to a movie, which I will never do due to the noise, or I could get a few bargain books. Which I will then trade with my daughter.
If I consider the book a "keeper", I will ask for it back once she's finished reading it.
I don't often seek outside entertainment, or travel, or go out to a restaurant but maybe twice a year with my daughter. So this is my "gift" to myself that is a symbol I suppose, of what I wanted when I was a child and didn't get.
It is also something my daughter and I can share, which I feel is important.
So I hope that finally answers that question. Yes, I'm frugal. But I pick and choose what I can splurge on in a small way.
